See "RBG" If You Haven't! (July 2018)
Carol and I saw a great documentary about Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, entitled “RBG.” I did not know very much about Judge Ginsburg; now that I know much more I am in awe of her. She has been a passionate defender of human rights, particularly women’s rights, fought gender discrimination (against men as well as women), broke new legal ground and overcame deeply embedded institutional misogyny throughout her life and career. Ginsburg is blessed with an incredible legal mind and phenomenal courage in confronting obstacles in pursuit of justice and fairness, for which she has incredible passion.
Ginsburg has become quite a cult figure in recent years. She has come to be known as “Notorious RBG,” for which there are T-shirts, posters, tattoos (yes, tattoos),and a biography by the same name. She has appeared several times (well, it’s actually Kate McKinnon) on SNL’s Weekend Update, and there’s a very humorous scene in the film when Ginsburg is watching a video of McKinnon doing her. Ginsburg is also the subject of a soon to be released biopic entitled “On the Basis of Sex.”
After seeing the documentary, RBG is one of my heroes--see the movie if you can!
