Devarim Raises Tzedakah to Benefit the Northborough Food Pantry
The 7th grade class planned a tzedakah project to raise money to benefit the Northborough Food Pantry. The project began with a goal of $100 that the students quickly surpassed through their efforts of communicating their goals within the school community. They ultimately collected $250, which was used during a field trip to Stop 'n Shop to purchase grocery items that they could donate.
The students worked together to gather a collection of food that would be both economical and nutritional for the recipients at the Food Pantry. They worked swiftly within the designated time period to spend the $250 they had raised, and the results will greatly benefit the Northborough Food Pantry.
Thanks again to all who contributed with donations and assisting your children in this important task. Thanks again to both Abbe Allexenberg and Ruth Weiner for driving the students and guiding them as they navigated their purchase. Thanks to Andrew Weiner for assisting the students throughout the trip and afterward as we reviewed our experience and discussed lessons learned. Lastly thanks to the 7th graders for a great effort, and for being model representatives of responsible citizens within our greater community.

Mimouna-Morrocon Jewiish Traditional Celebration marking the end of Passover. Sahar Dayan and Yoav Luxenbourg, our young emissaries, with gracious host Miri Zaritsky Sharon put together a Mimouma feast of traditional middle eastern sweets and pastries. So nice to have so many Jewish community members from Westboro, Worcester, and even Clark and WPI Hillel Students come together to celebrate. Thanks to The Jewish Federation of Central Mass and Liz Baker for sponsoring and directing the Young Emissary program...
