Sukkah

Today we learned about Sukkot. Students listened to stories, created Sukkot decorations and built their own edible Sukkah. Our students hung their decorations in our Sukkah and played a game called, "mix up the fruit basket," using the Hebrew names of fruits. We are looking forward to the celebration in the Sukkah on Wednesday Oct. 19.

Thanks to the 6th graders for planning and running a very successful program on Sunday morning March 6 to support Fugees Family, which is their year long tzedakah recipient.  Since the Fugees school was founded on the premise of educating refugee children in academics and soccer, the 6th graders wanted this event to be in the spirit of their school.  For more information about this school, check...Read more...

Today our classroom learned all about Mitzvote. We read a story about being a Mitzvah Magician. What does it mean to be a Mitzvah Magician? It means to do good in the world. The students created their own magic wand and said the magic words; "One Wish, Two Wish, Jew-Wish!" The students took a walk around the school and did some Mitzvah Magic.
