7:00 PM - 8:30 PMRabbi Jonathan Sacks (1948-2020) was an international religious leader, philosopher, award-winning author, and respected moral voice. He was awarded the 2016 Templeton Prize in recognition of his “exceptional contributions to affirming life’s spiritual dimension.”
Described by King Charles III as “a light unto this nation” and by former British Prime Minister Tony Blair as “an intellectual giant”, Rabbi Sacks was a frequent and sought-after contributor to radio, television, and the press both in Britain and around the world. Sacks’ “Covenant & Conversation” commentaries on the weekly Torah portion are read in Jewish communities around the world, and that is what we will do in this eight-part adult education series.
Participants will be provided with materials to prepare in advance so that our conversations will be interactive. Topics that may be touched on are: morality; leadership; social justice; hope vs. despair; gratitude; Jewish contributions to Western civilization; healing and brokenness; the power of speech; the power of community; and Jewish identity and survival.
We will meet by Zoom on Wednesdays from 7:00-8:30. Dates are: February 18 March 4 & 18 April 15 May 13 & 27 June 3 & 17 Registrants will receive zoom link in confirmation email
